Safe, silent, and semi-permanent cast-resin transformers of Hyosung Heavy Industries, are suitable for places where installation conditions are limited, where fire prevention is required, and where eco-friendliness, and resistance to harsh environment is critical.
Having developed the cast-resin transformer for the first time in Korea, Hyosung Heavy Industries received certifications from international bodies, including ISO, and CESI, and received certification for fire-retardancy (F1, 2000), Thermal-Accelerated Degradation (IEEE Std C57.12.60-1998 & RS C 0018-2006, 2008), and seismic resistance (IEEE Std 344-1987, Q-Class) for the first time in Korea, proving capabilities for quality and technology leadership.

Features and Benefits

Fire Resistant: Self-extinguishing characteristics of epoxy significantly reduces the spread and effect of a fire, and the possibility of explosion is nearly non-existent; We use H class epoxy resin, which is higher grade than the standard F class, as the main insulation material of the cast-resin transformer to control thermal aging and extend the overall lifetime of the transformer by three-folds.
Higher Short-circuit Strength: The winding is casted under high-vacuum producing high durability to the electromechanical force, external impact, and vibration generated by a short circuit.
Moisture Proof: The dielectric strength of the winding casted under high-vacuum does not deteriorate, under long-term exposure to humidity, and pollution.
Compact Size: We realize compactness and lightness by using insulation with supreme dielectric strength and thermal strength.
Low Loss & Low Noise: We achieve low-loss, and low-noise by optimized engineering, using low-loss silicon steel, and smaller coils.
Easy Maintenance: Through simple structure and advanced resistance to moisture, easy and minimized maintenance can be conducted.
