Hyosung Heavy Industries has developed wind turbines with the pride that it contributes to the development of the domestic energy-environment industry. Since the mid-1990s, it has been promoting the development of wind turbines and possesses advanced technology in main components of wind turbines such as gearboxes, generators, controllers and towers. Hyosung Heavy Industries is a leading company in the domestic wind turbine business. In 2006, we completed the development of a 750kW wind turbine, a 2MW wind turbine in 2009 and a 5MW offshore wind turbine in 2014 based on our comprehensive engineering capabilities. and we have become a global clean energy company focused on people and environment.
5MW offshore wind turbine installed in 2014 at Jeju's Gimnyeong National Wind Power Demonstration Complex and obtained international approval from Germany's DEWI-OCC in 2015. In addition, we plan to acquire the specific approval of the 5.5MW offshore wind turbine with improved safety and improved power generation amid the domestic typhoon environment until the first half of 2019.

The HS90 wind turbine system of Hyosung Heavy Industries maximizes power production from the optimum angle and realizes customer satisfaction while realizing high reliability, excellent performance and customer-oriented service of products. The HS90 wind turbine adopting the Active Yaw method is a 3-blade type pitch control type upwind wind turbine. As the rotor is equipped with 3-blade type pitch bearing capable of full span control equipped with a variable pitch system, this variable pitch system maximizes power production at the right angle.
