On May 31, Hyosung employees and war veterans who have rendered distinguished services and their families took a trip to Korean War sites in Paju, Gyeonggi-do as arranged by Hyosung and Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Southern Seoul Regional Office.
The event was arranged to express gratitude to war veterans for their sacrifice for and contribution to the country on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice Agreement. A total of 12 war veterans and 33 members of their families started the trip at the Seoul National Cemetery, took a gondola lift at Imjingak in Paju, and paid a visit to the Odusan Unification Observatory.
“I was confined to my home for a long time due to COVID-19 and my poor health. I think the trip will remain long in my memory as I got to spend time with other war veterans in meaningful places,” a veteran said.
Hyosung Chairman CHO Hyun-joon said, “We should feel grateful and pay respects to war veterans who devoted themselves to the homeland and strive to pass such feeling to upcoming generations.”
Hyosung provides financial support for the provision of homes to war veterans and engages in social contribution activities for the protection of the homeland and paying of respects to war veterans including the cleaning of the Seoul National Cemetery carried out by its employees on May 24.
