Hyosung Heavy Industries vowed to strengthen mutual cooperation with partner companies by planting “shared growth trees” in Noeul Park in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on May 16.
The tree planting was held as part of the 'shared growth meeting' that started in 2008. Hyosung Heavy Industries strives to facilitate communication by inviting outstanding partners to biannual meetings and listening to their difficulties.
Chairman Hyun-Joon Cho has often mentioned the African proverb, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” while vowing that he will "spare no support for overall areas, including technology, system, market exploration, and finance, for firm partnership and shared growth with partners."
The event was attended by 30 employees from 18 partner companies, such as Samdong and Dongyang Special Metal, who supply parts and raw materials for Hyosung Heavy Industries' products including ultra-high voltage transformers and circuit breakers. Employees of Hyosung Heavy Industries and the partner companies planted acorn trees in Noeul Park in an effort to restore and preserve the ecological environment of Nanjido.
Seo Dong-hyeon of Samdong, who participated in this meeting for the fifth year said, "This meeting helped us network with not only Hyosung Heavy Industries but also Hyosung Heavy's other partner companies. I think closer communication could bring about mutual synergy effects."
Since 2008, Hyosung Heavy Industries has invited excellent suppliers to biannual meetings in the first half and the second half of each year. The meeting in the first half consists of outdoor activities, such as hiking a trail or tree-planting, with employees of partner companies, where they can naturally build mutual understanding and discuss work. The second half meeting includes status sharing among CEOs and awarding outstanding partner companies.
