Hyosung Chemical participated in "Chinaplas 2019," a plastic and rubber industry fair held in Guangzhou, China from May 21 to 24. Chinaplas is one of the three largest plastic materials expositions in the world and is the largest in Asia.
At this fair, Hyosung Chemical unveiled new polypropylene (PP) products to be produced in Vietnam ahead of the market launch. These products are the most commonly used materials in everyday life, such as food containers, nonwoven fabrics for diapers, mask filters, and packaging films.
Hyosung Chemical, which is establishing an integrated PP production system from LPG storage tanks to dehydrogenation (DH) process in Vietnam, plans to build a plant with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons by this year and to construct an additional facility with a capacity of 300,000 tons by 2020 to target the PP market.
Hyosung Chemical also introduced its PP brand Topilene®. Topilene® R200P, which takes up the world's largest market share, is a material for pipes for hot and cold water supply which is excellent in economic efficiency, environmental friendliness, and chemical stability.
During the fair, Hyosung Chemical held meetings with more than 40 customer companies and heeded VOC (Voice Of Customer). In his New Year's address this year, Hyosung Chairman Hyun-Joon Cho emphasized, "A company that cannot identify and satisfy customers' needs will not be able to survive. Listening to the voice of customers carefully should be a starting point for everything we do."
