Mobile Substations

Hyosung Heavy Industries provides various products as mobile solutions.

As a total solution provider that manufactures major substations, we offer an array of mobile solutions, such as mobile transformers, GIS, e-houses, ESS, and STATCOM. After completing design, production, and assembly in the factory, the product is delivered to the customer for testing and easy plug-and-play.

Available options range from models for emergency substation recovery to complete substation replacements.

Features and Benefits

We offer specialized solutions based on superior technology.

  • Short Term Emergency Type

    • Used for emergency recovery in case of an accident.
    • Mounted on vehicles.
    • Designed with a focus on mobility to comply with general road regulations.
  • Intermediate Type

    • Provided in the form of vehicles or e-houses for temporary energy supply.
    • Serves as a bypass during substation expansion, maintenance, and repair, provides a short-term grid connection for PV ESS, and can be relocated when resources such as oil and gas are depleted due to mining.
  • Semi-stationary Type

    • A complete replacement of substations.
    • Supplied in the form of an e-house.
    • Suitable for locations where security and environment make performance challenging.

Applications

Discover custom solutions that meet your needs.

  • 01

    Emergency Recovery

    • When a blackout occurs due to the failure of a major facility, the mobile substation is swiftly relocated at the time the customer desires to restore the failed substation and improve system stability.
  • 02

    Renewable energy generation
    grid connection

    • In many instances, even if new and renewable energy power generators are constructed, they cannot be directly connected to the grids. As a solution, a mobile substation connects power generators to the grid even before the completion of substation construction.
  • 03

    Strengthening power grid resilience

    • Power systems are being reconstructed by connecting renewable energy power grids; if the grids become unstable as a result, mobile STATCOM can increase the systems' stability. The advantage of mobile STATCOM is that it can be reused for other power grids as power grid conditions change.
  • 04

    Mine and oilfield substations

    • Because the operating period of mines and oilfields is relatively short, the effect of facility investment can be maximized by moving to a new location using a mobile substation. In addition, it can avoid exposure to harsh environments by connecting the transformer and the circuit breaker (GIS) with a GIB or cable.
